Chance to Collaborate on 2 Global Neurosurgery Surveys: Perspectives and Capacity

turknorosirurji.org.tr /

Greetings,

You are being asked to take part in a research study by the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS), Harvard Medical School, and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Global Health Research Group on Neurotrauma.

We would like your input on TWO SEPARATE 20 minute surveys as we aim to revisit current and produce new guidelines for global neurosurgery.

  1. The Perspectives Survey will help us  learn about the neurosurgical community’s beliefs on the best way to move forward.  Specifically, we are interested in learning about perspectives on care delivery efforts, task-shifting/sharing, and research.

  2. The Capacity Assessment Survey is for all low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). With this, we aim to estimate the number of neurosurgery providers in your country and to describe their training background, with particular note of public versus private practice, and task shifting/sharing practices.

Your participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and you may withdraw your participation at any time for any reason. The data will be anonymous, and your email will not be linked to the results. HOWEVER, all those who complete the survey will have the opportunity to have their name listed as a collaborator (not co-author) in the Appendix and PubMed record of future publications, if they so wish. All analyses will be performed anonymously. Other than for indexing purposes, the participant's name will not be displayed, and no individual data will be presented.

If you have any questions about this study, you can contact Marike Broekman (marikebroekman@gmail.com) or Faith Robertson (faith_robertson@hms.harvard.edu).
